RJ Pickrell, Founder & Animal Lover
Hi, I’m RJ Pickrell, the heart behind Furry Friends of Arizona! My love for animals has been a lifelong passion, and starting this pet sitting business was a natural step for me—it’s where I’m happiest.
Originally from Connecticut, I spent some time in California before deciding that Arizona was the right place for me. I worked at GoDaddy for nearly a decade before a life-changing trip to Maui, Hawaii in 2017 made me fall in love with the island lifestyle, the ocean, and the incredible marine life. My passion for scuba diving and nature flourished, and I called Maui home for several years. However, due to COVID and the devastating Maui wildfires, I had to return to Arizona.
Throughout my career, I’ve always been creative, running my own web design company for over 10 years. But no matter where life has taken me, animals have always been my constant source of joy. That’s why I started Furry Friends of Arizona—to provide loving, reliable care for pets while their owners are away.
Whether it’s dog walking, pet sitting, or simply giving your furry friend extra love and attention, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I understand how important it is to have peace of mind when leaving your pets in someone else’s care, and I’m here to provide just that.
